"And to go one step further Arsenal, with Henry and Van Persie in the line up, would have wrung circles round this very ordinary and ageing Milan team."
Really? Liverpool play like Chelsea, only without the strength of personnel that Chelsea have. Arsenal and Man Utd both play expansive games, which even though they are ageing, Milan prefer to play against. Arsenal do not stiffle the opposition, so for you to make that comment is nieve to say the least. Benitez got it right tactitcally, where he fell down was in the lack of a decent striker. Kuyt is not the answer to his problems. Liverpool are without doubt the weakest of the top four Premiership teams when it comes to strikers, if they had someone of the calibre of Henry or Drogba up front Milan would've been buried. If you're going to make comment on football, which is let's face it all about opinions, try and be objective in your comments, not subjective and biased by your support of another team. Also, if you're such a tactical genius, why aren't you coaching at the top level. Also, Benitez has coached Liverpool well considering where they were under Houllier 3 years back into a half decent team without the resources he really wanted. It's easy for you to sit there and pick holes, but your comments are flawed in my humble opinion.

Is this the same Arsenal that lost against Barcelona the previous year and whose strikers failed to score? Rafa and Arsene are on a par and to date operating on a similar budget and with the same calming influence on their team. He needs the money to buy guys who know they're the businesses and do not have fear of making mistakes. As much as Pennant had a good game - it was primarily a 'good game' by his standards. Liverpool needed a guy who felt like he'd finally arrived where his talents deserved not someone who feared making a fool of himself when it came to his final killer ball. But that's not to say that his confidence would not have grown post yesterday's game meaning he'll have a better campaign next season. Crouch would've have given the AC Milan Defence and Pirlo too much time on the ball which would have created problems for Liverpool. Whatever the case, i wouldn't swop 2005 for this years loss. We'll be back

I would just like to note that the guy who scored from the header is Kuyt. The guy who you say should have been on the bench because only Crouch scores from headers. :-)

I don't think you can slate the tactics, because Milan only played in flashes and Kuyt was always there to put pressure on the opposing defenders (as he has a bit more pace than Crouchy).
As for Liverpool being weak up front..... just consider the fact that Benitez often likes goals to come from all over the pitch. However, saying that, I expect one prolific scorer to come in the summer and the good times can start again. Look out Chelski and Man U!

If Liverpool has player like Carlos Tevex in the squad, they should have won the match. A big big name player mean so much to them.
