SearchWho should partner Robin Van Persie?jason 24th August 2007
For regular visitors to this site my views have been made clear. Robin Van Persie is not really a centre forward in the sense that he is not a strong physical front target man.
He is better deployed behind or next to a strong centre forward and not as a lone striker. I also believe that Wenger needs to sign another experienced............ Too early to know about Eduardo. Adebayor looks promising. No more injuries pleas.

Anelka or Martins should perfectly partner RVP

Martins or Klaas Jan Huntelaar, and winger like Quaresma or how about bringing Vicente, I believe that he has a quality and type like Pires. Ups, don't forget about a reliable goalkeeper.

Bendtner looks like an old-fashioned cf and should lead the line with RvP behind. It's too soon to judge Eduardo and Adebayor is not a natural goalscorer but he can hold the ball up when needed. So for me, it'll be Bendy plus RvP.

Buying another striker would put Arsenal in a similar situatin to Spurs striker-wise as in they would have a pointlessly high number of strikers who need to play regularly. Buying another centre forward is a terrible and amatuerish decision which Wenger will without a doubt not make and with good reason. It's unsettling and unhelpful to have too many players in any position and in such a confidence affected position as centre forward having 6 or so strikers is just pathetic management by any standards. That's not even mentioning the money required to buy such a player who will only help to unsettle the attack rather than improve it. All our current main 4 strikers have the ability to get their share of goals, but if we have yet another forward, they'll each play less and score fewer times.
When Ade comes back people will remember the reasons why John Terry claims he's the hardest player to defend against in the league. If he can take a better ratio of his chances then between him and RvP we'll have the best attack in the league, mark my words. Before too long Ade is going to be regarded as an irreplacable and truly brilliant player. After the City game lets see how many people change their tune about Ade not being classy enough.

LOL. Let's also buy Ronaldinho, Kaka, Eto'o, Henry (again), Buffon, Viera (again) as well. Then let's bring Bergy out his retirement and lure John Terry and Drogba from Chelsea. Good luck with that.

Far too many people seem to think real life football is just like PES or FIFA. The truth is it's really not. Confidence is one of the biggest factors in how well a player performs and suggestions like buying another striker like Martins or Anelka can work in a game, but in real life such a badly thought out decision is just weak. Man Utd are currently buying with the poor PES style mentality whereby they pay anything for anyone and have stupidly high numbers of unhelpful players. If they go ahead and buy Berbatov, Anelka or Martins then let's see how well The ridiculously expensive kid Anderson does when he can't get a game ahead of Rooney, Tevez, Saha, Solskjaer, (Anelka/Berbatov/Martins) and that's assuming Utd even play 2 up front, which much of the time they won't even do.
If ARsenal buy another striker they have to get rid of Bendtner because it would be such a waste of his attributes and ability to sit him on the bench as 5th choice. He won't gain experience when he can't even make the bench and probably wouldn't much improve thanks to that. Not to mention it's not nice for a player who can't even make the bench. Why does it seem like so few others have the common sense to work this out?

Not to mention why do you guys think Saviola is wanted to leave Barca for free? Because he's sick of sitting on the bench and rotting. He wanted to leave even before Henry came and now with his arrival it only made it an even more obvious choice. You can't expect a player to be happy rotting in the squad unless you pay him appalling high wages Chelsea (SWP) style.

Van Persie is a world class player. BUT we must also remember that Arsenal is a world class outfit. We should be aiming for top of the league competing with Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool. Not focussing on Spurs for 4th position. We don't have time to test players. We have done that for the past to seasons and finished far behind the winners.Bendter may have great potential and eda may be solid but they are not proven goal scores. DA Silva as well needs time to settle. These strikers must understand that, work hard and become team players. Robin as proved to us that he can score. Another player that as a proven track record is Anelka. I would go with Robin and Anelka as first choice and wenger can slowly blood the team players. We can not run the risk of wasting time and find ourselves 20 points behind. We must also buy a top left winger-robinho or quaresma.
Anelka to partner Van the Man.
