suppose he is one of the only to consider being the only british player in our squad!! Is no-one else dissapointed with the lack of british players in our team? The dirty yids can do it and too be honest they arent that far behind us if behind us at all!! it's not as if all the foreign players are even bringing glory anymore!!

Spuds not far behind us, if at all? There miles behind, they may have some money and had a decent season, but we had a terrible season and were still in front. On the foreign players issue, it is whoever makes the grade. Huddlestone, Defoe and Jenas wouldn't get in our side. We have had loads of English players who have not quite made it - Bentley, Jeffers, Sidwell etc. but even if they are good now, they never would have got picked ahead of Pires, Freddie, Manu and Paddy. Where's the next Paddy for £4m or whatever we paid for him too?

there is no way hoyste can be compared with pat rice against holland in the second half all their attacking came via the left wing where was hoyte retreating as he always does against attackers without tackling them definiately not top class just a squad member it that

Eboue lacked focus last season or else he's way ahead of Hoyte. Eboue benched Robinho & had Nedved redcarded. He held his own against C_Ronaldo twice this season. Hoyte's too limited for Arsenal. If anything a fit Kerrea Gilbert whom we haven't sold yet's a more complete player.

go and fc uk yourself with this british crap,
english win you nothing!! FACT like the managers players from england are over rated media whores who sell you fools out every time a major championship comes around.. look at steve mcCLOWNen now ,sven done what was required of himk. took you to the qtrs.. no one with a brain would of expected you to get past that. so you win f all with english or to be managed by english..(if your reading tony adams) hell will freeze before you manage arsenal!

I'm sorry i have to agree with the other comments. Is he positionally soild and dependable? Not really.. He is being judged in that regard in relative terms to Eboue who had a bad season. Honestly i think that there are a lot of prem teams he probably wouldn't be first choice, let alone Arsenal. I like his attitude and he has improved but he really isn't good enough in my opinion.
