SearchThe Old Lady Bows Out. And is 'Big Ears' Coming to Highbury?David 06th April 2006
A great team performance last night sees Arsenal through to their first Champions League Semi Final, where Villarreal await.
We were better than Juventus in both games, this was not a lucky win, and there is a very real chance that Arsenal could win the Champions League and bring home the Big-Eared trophy. The team has grown so much since the first game against Real Madrid and a defence that has come together through adversity now holds the record for the most clean sheets in the history of the competition. Last night Senderos was superb. Is this the same guy who took such a kicking from Drogba back in August? I agree with other Gooners that its very hard to see how you can change the current back four. Flamini has made the most of his chance and it will be very hard on him to lose his place. Eboue gets better with every game; Toure is now a world class center half, strong, quick, and good with the ball at his feet, I wouldn't swap him for anyone. This weekend's trip to Old Trafford is another big test and I think we can measure how far the team has come after that game. It will be tough and physical, something that this season we have had problems with away from home. With 4th place within touching distance, its important to get something out if this match.
