Aston Villa will get the historic honour of playing the first ever game against Arsenal in the new 'Emirates Stadium' when they travel to North London on August 19th.

Emirates Stadium: June, 2006

Designed by HOK Sport (who are also responsible for the new Wembley), the new 60,000 all-seater Emirates Stadium will actually hold its first game a month earlier, on July 22nd for Dennis Bergkamp's testimonial.
The stadium cost an estimated £400 million - £100 mill of which came from Emirates Airline in exchange for 15 year name rights.

Its worth noting that many Gooners will probably carry on calling it 'Ashburton Grove', in the same way as they've always called Arsenal Stadium 'Highbury'.

It is expected that the increased club revenue from £100 mill. a year (currently) to an estimated £175 mill. It is anticipated that this will put the club on the same financial footing as Manchester United by the year 2010.
