SearchHow Much Do You Love Arsenal?David 21st April 2006 OK, its late on a Friday afternoon here and we're having a couple of cold ones and the subject turns to Arsenal, the World Cup, Champions League, Etc. And here is a question that came up. Now no matter what Nationality you are this same question can be used. I am not going to comment on anyone else's response one way or the other, but I would love to know what every Gooner worldwide thinks on this... ![]()

As a Welshman, we have a slightly different view of things. We're a smanll country and the vey idea of Wales winning the World Cup is so far beynd what we could hope for, that it becomes a dream.
So given the choice I'd have to say 'Country over Club

I'm English but live in LA now. I've got to go with Arsenal for the CL over the World Cup and England for the WC and 4th.

I`ve been following Arsenal for more than thirty years so I def go for Arsenal and CL if I my other option was Sweden and the WC.

As a Chilean who lived in London supporting The Arsenal for 30 years (now back in Chile), I would most definitely take my Arsenal and CL over my country winning the WC. As for 4th place and Chile winning WC, i would have to take Chile. After all CL is every year and the nearest Chile have come in a WC is 3rd place back in '62, and that's because it was played here.
Hopefuly I will see you all in Paris on the 17th May.

Rik, very good point, its interesting we just asked an English Chelsea fan the same question and he went for C.L too, though he did point out the 4th place was not relevent !.
Arse of Sweden, Thanks for your post, I am interested to see what all Gooners around the world make of this one, and I wonder how many feel the same way... we can't really count Ely cos he is Welsh :)

easy peasy. If I'd had questions liek this at GCSE, I'd be a brain surgeon now, instead of needing one.
The Arsenal to win CL over England winning WC. also, the squirrel to marry Heidi from the Sugababes, in 'the wedding of the year', with Cashley Cole suing the squirrel, accusing it of restricting his right to cash in... »»Arsene Knows««

Dave, something that might interest you is that when Arsenal beat Juve at Highbury swedish fans got their tickets for Paris with Ryanair just in case...and of course the airline-tickets are so cheap so it`s not a big loss, all this without tickets for the final itself.

I'm american and have became a arsenal fan by chance going on 10 yrs ago. Now arsenal dominates nearly all my free time and is more important than anything else, except my wifey. Considering the US's derisory world rankings, and profound lack of excitement about WC. I'll take a win over spurs tomorrow, rather than a WC. It would be a moral quandry if arse played our modest local club the Portland Timbers, however.

Ahil, Australian of Sri Lankan heritage, supporting Arsenal since '94. Its a really tough 1 for me. I think I'd go with Arsenal winning CL over Oz winning the WC, coz (as Rik said, its all about bragging rights). BUT, if Sri Lanka could somehow win the WC (ahaha) then I think I'd take that, probably because I'd be in the team, ehehe.

Tremendous question that has got us all thinking I'm sure. For me:
Arsenal as champions league winners over almost anything. but.. I'd still revel in the nationwide buzz of a National victory even over 4th place. Time is on our side and this team should only get better... and a victory might even improve the whole country.

Arsenal to win champs league - no contest!
Arsenal to get 4th - no contest! Not even a debate for me and all my mates agree they'd rather club success than country success!

It does please me that all of you would choose the Arse over your country in this case. But i gotta say iam a bit surprised considering you havent won the world cup for 40 years. I know we have never won the Europeen cup/CHL but still.... Iam surprised! Iam a danish Gooner, been following Arsenal for 16 years. And i would choose Arsenal-CHL as well, so dont know why iam a surprised. lol
