So the weekend brought a nervous 3 points against West Brom.

Watching the game, you could tell that the Champions League tie was on the minds of the players. Fortunately after a scare with Albion coming back to 1-1, 'The Ice Man' rescued the points with an assist for a Bobby Pires goal and then a true Bergkamp special to kill the game, fitting that on 'Berkamp Day', the Dutch master proved the difference in the end.

Yesterday Man Utd did us a huge favour beating the 'Shower of Shite' up the road. I have to say though, on watching it, Man U did not deserve the points, but I'm not complaining!
I feel it was important that the Spuds did not pick up points yesterday, coming to Highbury with a 5 or 7 point cushion I think would have been a big psycologial plus for them.

As it is, tommorow night's game will have a similar effect for us when we play the last North London Derby at Highbury.
A poor result tomorrow and I think Spuds will secure 4th, a good result and I think we may just sneak it, but its going to be tight. By Saturday afternoon, we will know an awful lot more about what this season hold for us.

Now onto the big one... Villarreal tomorrow.

This 90 minutes is the key to the rest of our season, a good result on Wednesday evening and we will be heading for a Champions League final in Paris. As The Boss said previously, the first game makes an important psycological impact on the players. We lost to Bayern because of the first leg defea and you saw how Juventus were hit hard by the 2-0 defeat at Highbury. If Arsenal can boss this game like they did against Juventus then we can go on and win the tie. Saying that, Villarreal are a good side, they will not be easy to beat.

Henry speaking ahead of the game said:

Obviously everyone is talking about the race for fourth spot - but we are going to have to put that aside [for this match] and try to concentrate on the Champions League," the Arsenal skipper said.

It is going to be a massive game. What we need to do is defend well as a team and as soon as we can, go and attack. We need to do it like we do it in the Premier League - that is one thing which did surprise Juve. They are not used to a team having a go at them all the time, going behind their defence, or putting a high pace into the game.
That is what we will have to try to do.

He's right, of course, the energy in our side is what caused Juve so many problems and again Villarreal are not used to such high pace in La Liga, hopefully this is something to our advantage.

We will need to be at our best to win this one, but I'm sure the boys are ready for it.

Come on Gooners.
