Arsenal 2 v 1 Liverpool
Perhaps 2 big things happened this weekend that might just show things are starting to go our way.
Saturday afternoon, with time almost up, William Gallas lets fly with right foot curler that give Chelsea a dramatic late win over the Shower of Shite. Late Sunday afternoon, with the Arsenal drawing a game they should have long put to bed, Steve Gerrard plays the ball back towards his own keeper, failing to notice Henry's presence. Titi gratefully accepts the gift, rounding Reiner to put the ball into the net and earn Arsenal the 3 points we deserved and needed so much. Things like this can change a season, lets hope so for us.
Gerrard said
I did not see Henry," "The last player you want the ball to go to is the best player on the planet. It was completely my fault and I hold up my hands. It was a stupid mistake that has stopped us from robbing a point because we did not play at all
The Liverpool captain's assesment is honest. Liverpool did not deserve anything from this game, but due to our poor finishing in front of goal they almost got one.
Henry of course will get the praise Scoring 2 goals, but Cesc Fabregas was magnificent, setting up Henry for the first goal with a superb through pass, and controlling the midfield all day. On the goal Henry said of Fàbregas,
We caught eyes and he played the right ball.
Indeed he did but Henry's finish was still world class.
So have we turned the corner?
The signs look good, Senderos, Toure and Eboue look solid at the back, Eboue is also looking great going forward, the team seems to have a fluency again though sadly we lost Freddie to injury which is a blow. But the players seem to have their belief back, and that's the important thing.
Next up is Charlton at Highbury next Saturday.
Lets keep it going Gooners.
