So it seems Sol popped over to Brussels on the Eurostar for a few days R&R and some Mules Mariniere. Now he is back in training at Arsenal, its going to be interesting to see what happens, but I find it hard to hard beleive that a few days in Belgium will cure his "issues".
Tony Cascarino gives his view on the situation in The Times, todayIts an excellent article. I have a lot of time for the big fella, and his autobiography 'Full Time: the Secret Life of Tony Cascarino' is probably still the best football book I've read.

If you haven't done so yet, go buy it, you won't regret it.

How can you claim it was a good artical? Cascarino came over as basically uncaring about a good pro and someone we should be supporting. He doesnt owe Sol anything like we do, he is not a gooner. Some players react to personal issues differently, I dont really care if Campbell is more sensitive, or troubled, or a deep thinker, what I care about is that he has given so much to the club over the years and was strong and dignified when he made his trip across North London and he has never let anyone down. He walks out at half time and everyone doubts the true professional he is. In all the years he has been a footballer how many times has he let anyone down? And suddenly people call him a pre madonna and all sorts of rubbish, its a real shame.

Vava, Thanks for posting. I thought it was a an excellent article because he talks of been in a similar situation himself,so unlike the average journalist spouting off , he actually has some experience of what its like. The one difference though was when he had problems he let Liam Brady who was his Manager at the time know he was unfit to play before the game, not at half time. I just think his article gave a better insight than half the crap we have seen floating around. I agree with you that alot have jumped on Sol, as i mentioned the other day one Arsenal blog i saw was saying for him to go back up the road, which I think is about the worst thing anyone could say. My own opinion is that, if something is such a problem that you go off to Belgium for a few days, I find it hard to beleive its all hunky dory now. I don't think it was Cascarino's job to be caring, I just feel he poses some very good questions that i would like to know the answers on.
