SearchArsenal Complete 2nd Signing of The DayDavid 13th January 2006 As a quick update to the story earlier Striker Emmanuel Adebayor has now completed his move to Gunners. Hope this doesn't mean we see even more of the 4,5,1 formation that most of us (including arseblog) hate so much. Pat...know what you mean they're not exactly household names...think you're wrong about Adebayor being inexperienced though. he was in the Metz first team at 17 and has played in the Champions League and Uefa Cup with Auxerre. 11 goals in 13 internationals can't hurt his case either.
Can't profess to knowing much about him, but give him a chance before laying any judgements on Wengers table.

Worried about a lack of household names? Henry, Vieira, Petit, Fabregas, Pires, Ljungberg, van Persie, Lauren, Senderos, Clichy. I could go on, trust le boss. Remember van Bronckhorst? Had a household name and a big fee, as did Richard Wright, both were turkeys!

Good point Tim, though we did still pay around 10 million for Titi if my memory serves me right, and Pires was a French International , and European Championship winner when he came for about 7 million, but i agree, there is nobody better at finding talent and making it world class. We have to face the facts we don't have the money to buy big stars at the moment.
