The gooners end the christmas period with 7 points from nine, and no goals against, after playing out a goaless draw at Villa Park.


I was confident we would get something from this game as F.A cup semis apart against Man U , we have a good record here, infact we have not lost in a league game at Villa Park since Nov 98 when we ended up chucking away a 2 goal half time lead to lose 3-2.


Watching the game on fox soccer channel out here, a draw seemed about a fair result, both teams had chances, Flamini in the 38th Minute should have scored when he was through on goal, but shot high and wide, but Baros also had good chances for Villa, one from a corner in the first half, direct from a corner where Cygan left him unmarked, fortunatley he shot over the bar. In the second half Baros had the best chance of the game, when after Sol made a poor clearance , Baros was through with only Leymann to beat, he seemed to have time go get a bit to eat come back and still put the ball in the net but, he ended up blasting his shot over the bar.


Arsenal best effort in the 2nd half came from Ljungberg, when in the 55th minute he let fly with a left foot shot from the edge of the box that crashed against the Bar. Other than that we didnt create much, Titi was kept pretty quiet, his one effort from a free kick hitting the wall and coming to nothing,an 83rd minute shot accross goal was pretty much his only other effort if you could call it that.


Again we seemed to have alot of pretty build up play without any real killer punch, a fact reflected in the corners, where Villa had 7 to our 1, and that didn't come untill the 88th Minute.


Toure could infact have scored from the corner, when after the ball was headed down by Sol, it fell to Toure only 4 yards out, but it seemed to come off the back of his foot and go wide when it seemed easier to score.


So its on to Tuesaday and the visit of Man Utd to Highbury, I am not so sure we keep a clean sheet in that one, United have the players to cause Cygan problems,something i think if he is playing left back they will look to exploit.
